The
Wishes and Whims of Their Royal Majesties
- Events should be eventful and
inclusive. With some exceptions (Crown Tourney), all aspects of our Society
should be included in every event where possible. This includes finding indoor
space for fighting in inclement weather. Horses and Archery are very important
to the Mongols. They should be present where possible.
- Every effort should be made with
an event site to draw the participants into the dream…thus banners, pennants,
rugs, and draperies are a wonderful addition to a hall.
- Our Society must grow if it is
to flourish. Therefore We take great delight in seeing Our People encourage
newcomers and children to participate.
- We appreciate the craft of the
brewer, but do not partake of beer or liquors Ourselves. We would be happy
to sample other types of brewed beverage, such as wine, cordial, cider, arag,
or mead, but should We receive any items of the former type We will ask Our
retinue to sample them for Us.
- Music is a cherished art and should
be displayed often. We ask that some form of musical performance happen prior
to any afternoon courts, and welcome performances throughout the days.
- At feast We like baby sheep, but
prefer cows to have grown up, and slippery sea creatures make Mongols nervous
(and young Mongols ill).
